Clinics and medical facilities In development

One place to run, and evidence, every site you operate.

Cura Vita runs today in care homes and home care. We are extending it to independent hospitals, clinics, GP practices, day surgery, diagnostics and community health services. Here is what carries across, and what is not built yet.

In development. Cura Vita is live for care homes and home care. It is not yet intended for use in clinics or medical facilities, and its medicines records are not for use with real people until its clinical safety case is signed.

MF-01 Settings we are working towards

Registered with CQC, held to the same standards.

Each of these is registered and inspected by CQC. Each needs its staff checked and trained, its incidents handled, and its governance evidenced.

  • Independent hospitals

Inpatient and day-case care outside the NHS, often across several sites.

    In development
  • Clinics

Outpatient and specialist clinics, from one room to a group.

    In development
  • GP practices

General practice, with clinical and non-clinical teams.

    In development
  • Day surgery

    Procedures with same-day discharge.

    In development
  • Diagnostics

Imaging, endoscopy and other diagnostic and screening services.

    In development
  • Community health services

Teams that care for people in clinics and in their own homes.

MF-02 What carries across Live in care homes and home care

Built, live, and ready to adapt.

These are built and in use for care homes and home care today. For a clinic or a group of sites, the staff, governance and audit tools are the parts that carry across most directly.

Medicines
Rounds by time, an outcome recorded for every dose (given, refused or withheld, with the reason), and overdue doses and late entries flagged.
Incidents and safeguarding
Falls, incidents and safeguarding concerns recorded on the person’s record. Flagged entries and every safeguarding entry go to a manager or nurse, who records the outcome: a referral made, family or a professional told, CQC notified.
Staff checks and training
DBS, right to work, training and medicines competency, each with its expiry date, and a training matrix in the staffing report.
Supervisions and appraisals
Each one recorded, with the next due date worked out from the last and an alert to managers when one is due.
Audit trail
Changes to residents, care plans, care notes, medicines and staff records logged with who made them and when, in a log that cannot be edited or deleted.
Audit-grade reports
About 60 criteria, each tied to a CQC regulation, NICE guidance, the Mental Capacity Act or employment law. Failing records are named, with the action to take.
Audit programme
A January to December programme of in-depth audits, with findings recorded item by item and actions tracked to completion.
Sign-offs before go-live
The data processing agreement, data protection impact assessment, clinical safety assessment and training confirmation are signed in the platform; a service cannot be marked live until they are.
Access and separation
Each organisation’s records kept apart in the database, access by role, and one sign-in across every site a person works in.

MF-03 Community health services

Visits in people's homes are already built, for home care.

Cura Vita's home care tools schedule visits, give staff their run on a phone with GPS check-in and check-out, and show the office late and missed visits as they happen. They are live for home care providers; using them for community nursing and therapy teams is part of the development.

MF-04 The same standards Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014

One set of fundamental standards, whatever the setting.

CQC registers and inspects independent hospitals, clinics, GP practices and community health services against the same fundamental standards as care homes and home care. Cura Vita's audits test records against those regulations today.

REG 9Person-centred careCare plans with a review date the audit checks.
REG 12Safe care and treatmentHigh risks with a mitigation, and follow-up after falls.
REG 13SafeguardingSafeguarding entries reviewed, with the outcome recorded.
REG 17Good governanceAudit trail, audit programme and actions.
REG 18StaffingTraining, supervisions and appraisals.
REG 19Fit and proper persons employedDBS and right to work checks with expiry dates.
REG 20Duty of candourWhether family or a representative were told.
Worth knowing
Written for care homes and home care
Today's criteria were written for those settings. Criteria for independent hospitals, clinics, GP practices and community health services are part of the development, and are not written yet.
No data, not a guess
Where a record is not kept, the report says No data rather than guessing.
Not an accreditation
Cura Vita holds no CQC or NHS accreditation. The regulations describe what each criterion checks.

MF-05 What a deployment adds

What is in hand, and what is not built yet.

A clinical setting, and NHS work in particular, needs assurance and connections that a care home does not. Here is where each one stands, without rounding up.

Assurance None held yet

  • Clinical safety case (DCB0129)In progressCura Vita's hazard log and safety case are drafted and awaiting review and sign-off by a Clinical Safety Officer. They cover care homes and home care only; a hospital or clinic needs its own hazard analysis first.
  • Your deployment (DCB0160)TemplateCura Vita provides a draft deployment checklist and starter local hazard log for your own Clinical Safety Officer to complete and sign before go-live.
  • Data Security and Protection ToolkitPlannedNot yet published.
  • Cyber Essentials Plus and a penetration testPlannedNot yet held or carried out.

Connections and clinical tools Not built

  • Patient record and pharmacy systemsNot builtNo integration with a hospital's patient administration, electronic patient record or pharmacy systems.
  • NHS number and GP linksNot builtAn NHS number can be recorded on a person's record today. It is not checked against any NHS service, and there is no link to GP systems.
  • Ward views and clinical observationsNot builtNo ward or bed views, and no recording of observations or early warning scores.
  • Appointments and clinic listsNot builtNo appointment booking, clinic lists or procedure records.

MF-06 Working with us

Talk to us early.

Hospital and clinic use is being shaped now. If you run one, we would rather build with you than guess.

  1. See it

A demonstration of the live platform on a care home and a home care branch with fictional people, so you can judge what carries across.

  2. Tell us your setting

Which services and sites, what systems you already run, and what your governance lead will need to see.

  3. Shape a pilot

Before any pilot, an intended-use statement, hazard analysis and clinical safety case for that setting come first.
